The situation at the front remains tense but under control. The defense forces continue to actively counteract the enemy's attempts to advance deep into the territory of Ukraine, directing their efforts to disrupt the occupiers' plans.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:30 on May 28. In total, about 110 direct combat engagements took place over the day.

Russian invaders are trying to use their superiority in manpower, equipment and air support. Ukrainian soldiers are bravely repelling the enemy and are taking active steps to strengthen defense in certain areas.

During the day, the enemy launched four missiles, 38 air strikes using 57 combat aircraft, and 435 kamikaze drones. In addition, the enemy fired at our positions and settlements using various types of weapons 2,849 times.

Seven combat engagements took place in the Kharkiv sector. Ukrainian Defense Forces units repelled four attacks by Russian occupants in the areas of Starytsia and Vovchansk. The situation is tense but controlled by Ukrainian troops. Fighting continues in the area of Vovchansk, our defenders are actively countering the enemy and inflicting losses on them.

The enemy's losses in this area since the beginning of the day amount to 68 people. Three artillery systems, 12 vehicles and three units of special equipment were destroyed. Two tanks, three artillery systems, seven vehicles and one unit of special equipment were also damaged.

There were 19 combat engagements in the Kupiansk sector. Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled 16 enemy attacks in the areas of Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Druzheliubivka, Novoiehorivka and Nevske. Fighting continues in the areas of Petropavlivka and Nevske.

There were 16 combat engagements in the Lyman sector. Attempts by Russian occupants to advance in the areas of Terny, Torsky and Serebryansky forest were unsuccessful. Despite the enemy's activity, the Ukrainian military is reinforcing the front line of defense.

In the Siversk sector, the enemy attacked our positions near Bilohorivka eight times, trying to break through the combat lines of Ukrainian units. The situation remains tense, and Ukrainian defenders are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy's advance.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the aggressor tried to attack the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the areas of Hryhorivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka six times, but all attempts were unsuccessful. Ukrainian positions were not lost.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy actively attacked Ukrainian defenders, conducting 25 assault operations with the support of aviation. In some areas, the enemy had partial success, but the Defense Forces are taking measures to stabilize the situation and prevent the enemy from advancing.

The aggressor's losses in this sector amounted to over 220 people killed and wounded. Six armored combat vehicles, four vehicles and one ATGM were destroyed. One armored combat vehicle, one cannon and two mortars were damaged.

Nine combat engagements took place in the Kurakhove sector. Militants are trying to advance in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka and Vodiane. Ukrainian Defense Forces units are repelling the enemy's attacks and reinforcing their defenses.

In the Vremivsk sector, Russian occupants continue to try to force Ukrainian defenders out of their positions. Six enemy attacks were repelled in the vicinity of Staromaiorske, and one battle is ongoing. Defense forces control the situation.

Three combat engagements took place in the Orikhiv sector. Russian occupants failed to push our units back from Mala Tokmachka.

In the Prydniprovsk sector, the occupants continue to try to drive the Defense Forces from their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River. 10 combat engagements did not result in any significant changes in the situation. Ukrainian troops continue to control the situation, no losses of our positions have been reported.

Ukrainian soldiers are inflicting significant losses on the occupiers, actively using firepower against enemy manpower and equipment. Measures are being taken to improve the tactical situation in certain areas.

As a reminder, due to the large number of losses of the Russian Armed Forces at the front, hospitals in the occupied territories are overcrowded with wounded invaders. The situation is the same in medical institutions in the border regions of the aggressor country itself.
