The "rules of the game" on the front may change: Reznikov predicted when Ukraine will start using F-16 fighters
Modern fighter jets F-16 can strengthen the Ukrainian Air Force in the spring of 2024. This assumption was voiced by the Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov.
In an interview with the German edition of Bild, he noted that the training of our aviators will take some time. It is also necessary to prepare the infrastructure for the use of new aircraft - this may take at least six months. "And maybe a little more," Reznikov said.
"I would say that this [the appearance of F-16s on the frontline] could happen next spring because we have started training courses for our pilots, engineers and technicians," the defense chief said.
He believes the F-16s are capable of "changing the rules of the game" in the war against Russian occupation forces.
"We must end Russian dominance in the skies, beyond the battlefield. F-16 aircraft will become part of the air defense. We can strengthen our capabilities in the skies to defend the airspace, which is our cities. That would be a big breakthrough for us. Very big," Reznikov admitted.
