A video from the Bristol Hotel in Odesa was posted online after the attack by the Russian occupiers on January 31. Inside the building, you can see significant damage, and the place where the newlyweds always sat is completely destroyed.
The relevant footage was posted on a local Telegram channel. They show the aftermath of the attack on one of the most prominent architectural structures in the central part of Odesa.
The once luxurious banquet hall has smashed windows and in some places no ceiling, and there is a pile of construction debris around.
"We are trying to save what we can, this is the place where newlyweds always sit," the woman said in the video.
What is known about the Bristol Hotel in Odesa
The Bristol Hotel is a historic hotel in Odesa. It was built from 1898 to 1899 by the architects Aleksandr Bernardazzi and Adolf Minkus opposite the New Merchant Exchange building and next to the State Bank building, and at that time was one of the most luxurious hotels in Odesa. It was the first 4-storey hotel in the city. The hotel building has now been granted the status of an architectural monument.
On the evening of January 31, Russian war criminals once again attacked Odesa with ballistic missiles. The first explosion occurred near the elite Bristol Hotel in the city center. A crater was formed in the ground near the building. Opposite the building, a blast wave smashed the glass in one of the shops.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, a total of 19 historical monuments in Odesa were damaged as a result of the Russian strike, and they suffered varying degrees of damage. The main damage is broken window panes and displaced carpentry.
