Lithuania has completed the repair of the first Leopard 2 tanks, which will soon return to the battlefield in Ukraine. They were demonstrated at the Gaižiūnė military training ground.
This was reported by the press service of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense. They emphasized that they consistently support Ukraine in its struggle for independence, so they not only provide military aid, but also undertake the repair of damaged tanks.
"Today we can see what a repaired and revitalized powerful tank looks like, which will soon be returned to Ukraine," said Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas.
The armored vehicles are being repaired by Lithuania Defense Service (LDS). It has been repairing damaged tanks since October 2023.
"Performing real tasks of this kind allows us to train, maintain the readiness of our personnel, ensure the verification of logistics chains, and provide ongoing support to Ukraine," the Lithuanian Armed Forces said at the time.
Before that, the country organized the repair and return to Ukraine of PzH2000 self-propelled howitzers, which were transferred to our country and took part in the fighting.
