Russia is using Storm-Z units for assaults in the direction of Lyptsi in the northern part of Kharkiv region. They are trying to perform rotations, but Ukrainian soldiers are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy from increasing the number and pace of attacks.

Currently, about 30 thousand occupants are in this area. Denys Karataiev, commander of the artillery battery of the Spartan Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, spoke about this on Kyiv24 TV channel.

He described the current situation in the Lyptsi area.

"The enemy must always be assessed objectively and not underestimated. Right now, Storm-Z units are trying to conduct assault operations there. The enemy, of course, is trying to perform rotations. But we see it all and make sure that they cannot man up their units and assault at a faster pace and in larger numbers," Karataiev said.

He also indicated the approximate concentration of Russian troops in the area.

"Looking at the forces with which the enemy is trying to conduct assault operations, I think it is about 30 thousand, according to intelligence reports," Karataiev emphasized.

Earlier, the Institute for War Studies noted that AFU is making progress in the Kharkiv region. However, the occupiers also continue to attack.

In addition, the General Staff reported in its evening operational update that as of the evening of May 23, fighting continued in the areas of Starytsia and Tykhyi in the Kharkiv region. The Russians also continued shelling Vovchansk, razing the city to the ground.
