The enemy conducted unsuccessful attacks in seven directions, dozens of attacks were repelled: General Staff data

On Thursday, November 16, the Russian occupiers tried to advance on seven fronts, but were unsuccessful . Our defenders repelled dozens of attacks and inflicted losses on the enemy.

Atotal of 62 combat engagements took place over the day. This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In total, the occupants launched 9 missile and 31 air strikes, as well as 26 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and settlements.

The operational situation has not changed in the Volyn and Polissya sectors. No signs of the formation of offensive groups were detected. Units of the Armed Forces of Belarus are performing their tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

On the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the invaders maintain a military presence in the border areas, conduct sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shell settlements from the territory of Russia, and increase the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.

At the same time, about 20 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Kliusy, Arkhipivka in Chernihiv region; Zarichchia, Chuykivka, Bachivsk in Sumy region; Vetarine, Ohirtseve, Vovchansk, Nesterne, Dvorichansk in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy tried to conduct assault operations near Synkivka and Petropavlivka in Kharkiv region, but failed. Our soldiers repelled 4 enemy attacks.

However, the occupants launched an air strike near Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Berestove in the Kharkiv region.

The invaders did not conduct any offensive actions in theLiman sector . At the same time, the enemy launched an air strike in the area of Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region. About 10 localities suffered from enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Torske, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, our troops repelled 18 enemy attacks in the areas of Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka and Andriivka in Donetsk region. However, the occupants launched an air strike near Diliyivka, Donetsk region. Also, more than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Markove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka sector, Russian occupants conducted assault operations east of Stepove, Avdiivka and Pervomayske in Donetsk region, where the Defense Forces repelled 15 attacks. However, more than 15 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Sukha Balka, Keramik, Tonenke, Avdiivka, Netaylove, Pervomayske in Donetsk region.

In the Mariinka sector, the enemy, with the support of aviation, conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Mariinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, where our defenders repelled 15 attacks. Oleksandropil, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, and Katerynivka came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the occupants staged an assault near Staromayorsk, Donetsk region. At the same time, the enemy launched air strikes in the vicinity of Urozhayne and Staromayorske. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vodiane, Bohoyavlenka, Prechystivka, Zolota Niva, Staromayorske, and Rivne in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Robotyne and west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. Defense forces repelled 5 attacks there.

The enemy launched air strikes near Novodarivka and Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Temyrivka, Poltavka, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Mali Shcherbaki, and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson sector, Kherson, Ivanivka and Bilozerka in Kherson region came under enemy artillery fire.

At the same time, Ukrainian defenders continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol sector. Our defenders are also conducting assault operations in the Bakhmut sector.

In addition, Ukrainian aviation carried out 2 strikes on enemy concentration areas during the day.

Rocket troops hit 3 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, 6 artillery pieces, 2 control points and 2 ammunition depots of the enemy.

- Military expert Roman Svitan believes that Ukraine can liberate the Kinburn Spit in the near future without firing a single shot and without a direct combat clash with the enemy forces. If the Defense Forces are able to cut off the occupation group along the proposed line from Kherson to Skadovsk, the enemy will flee for fear of the cauldron.

- The ISW reported that the occupiers are conducting simultaneous offensives in several directions and are trying, in particular, to regain the initiative north and south of Bakhmut. However, Ukrainian troops continue to put pressure on the enemy and are making progress at the tactical level along the front line.
