The enemy has resumed offensive actions on the Lyman direction: there have been 57 combat clashes - General Staff

Within the last day, 57 combat engagements between the Defense Forces and Russian occupants took place on the frontline in Ukraine. Our defenders repelled enemy attacks in six directions.

This information is stated in the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, dated November 8. The defense forces continued their offensive in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions.

Russian shelling and the situation at the front

The enemy launched 2 missiles and carried out 30 air strikes, firing 59 times from multiple rocket launchers at Ukrainian troop positions and populated areas. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged. Unfortunately, there are wounded among the civilian population. Also, Russia has once again attacked Ukraine using an X-31 guided missile. The missile strike targeted a civilian vessel.

The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissya directions remained unchanged. There are no signs of offensive groups forming.

In the Siversky and the Slobozhansky directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas. About 20 settlements came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Medvedivka and Senkivka in the Chernihiv region; Turya, Pavlivka, Iskryskivka in the Sumy region; Kozacha Lopan, Vovchansk, and Vetarine in the Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the occupants conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Synkivka, the Kharkiv region, where our soldiers repelled 6 attacks. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Dvorichna, Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Novoyehorivka in the Luhansk region. They conducted an airstrike near Spirne, in the Donetsk region. About 10 localities suffered from enemy artillery and mortar attacks, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Torske, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, our defenders repelled 22 enemy attacks in the areas of Bohdanivka, Khromove, Ivanivka, Klishchiyivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. The enemy launched an air strike near Andriivka. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Markove, Mykolayivka, Klishchiyivka, Kurdyumivka, and Nyzhyk in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Keramik, Stepove, Avdiivka, Pervomayske in the Donetsk region, where the Defense Forces repelled 11 attacks. The enemy conducted air strikes near Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire, including Berdychi, Stepove, Netaylove, Pervomayske in the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, the enemy, with the support of aviation, carried out 15 unsuccessful attacks in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. They conducted air strikes near Oleksandropol and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. About 10 settlements in the Donetsk region, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy, supported by aviation, conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Staromayorske and south of Prechystivka in the Donetsk region. About 10 localities, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Novoukrainka, and Urozhayne in the Donetsk region, came under artillery and mortar fire.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions in the Zaporizhzhya direction. They carried out air strikes in the areas of Vesele and Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Malynivka, Huliaipole, Bilohirya, Robotyne, Mali Shcherbaky, and Pyatikhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, Kherson, Novoberislav in the Kherson region, and Solonchaky in the Mykolaiv region came under enemy artillery fire.

Occupants' losses over the day

The aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 6 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment and 3 strikes on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.

Missile troops destroyed 8 artillery pieces, 2 ammunition depots, 4 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment, 3 air defense facilities, a radar station, 3 electronic warfare stations, and another important enemy target.

- The ISW reported that the occupiers are panicking due to the operations of the Defense Forces on the temporarily occupied left bank of the Kherson region. According to Russian sources, there are about a battalion of Ukrainian soldiers in the occupied part of the region. They also claim that Ukraine has transferred a limited number of armored vehicles to the opposite bank of the Dnipro River.

- Ukrainian defenders continue their counteroffensive on the left bank of the Kherson region. The Russian occupiers are afraid of the onslaught of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and refuse to storm their positions.
