"The Crimean bridge is unnecessary there": the DIU issued a new warning to the occupiers
The Crimean bridge is a redundant structure that needs to be neutralised. The Russian occupiers use it as a military facility for logistics and movement of their forces and equipment, as well as to strengthen the occupation corps.
This was stated on 27 July by a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, on Channel 24. He noted that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov had exhaustively commented on the need to "neutralise" the illegal Kerch Bridge.
"It is unnecessary there," Yusov said.
The DIU representative added that the Crimean bridge is used to kill Ukrainian civilians and military.
"It is an illegal construction used as a military facility for logistics and movement of enemy forces and equipment, for strengthening the occupation corps, which means to continue killing Ukrainian civilians, destroying infrastructure and killing Ukrainian defenders. This means that everything used for such purposes must be neutralised, and it will definitely be," Yusov assured.

- On the morning of 17 July, one of the spans of the Crimean bridge collapsed as a result of explosions. The occupiers had to stop traffic, and the ferry crossing was closed. Russians were advised to go to the peninsula through the occupied territories on the mainland of Ukraine.
- On 21 July, at the Aspen Forum, Zelenskyy said that the Crimean bridge was a legitimate target for Ukraine and should be neutralised. He stressed that the structure is a logistical road for the enemy, and that it is used to transport weapons.
- On 26 July, the SBU first admitted involvement in the attack on the Crimean Bridge on 8 October 2022. "The destruction of the Crimean Bridge is one of our operations," said SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk. According to him, some operations will be possible to talk about after Ukraine's victory, while others will never be discussed at all.
- Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that Ukraine would continue to strike the Crimean bridge to reduce Russia's combat capability and save Ukrainian lives.
