The confrontation between Prigozhin and Shoigu continues: the DIU has provided new details

Yusov: Russia has an understanding that the idea of invading Ukraine was idiotic

The story of the confrontation between Yevgeny Prigozhin, the owner of the Wagner PMC, and Sergei Shoigu, the Minister of Defence of the aggressor country, is not over yet. At the same time, Russia understands that the idea of invading Ukraine was an idiotic one, so they will look for those responsible. Russian military personnel are already beginning to realise that they are being prepared for this role.

This was stated by Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, during a telethon on 10 August. "Nothing is over yet, and the Prigozhin-Shoygu story is not over either," he said.

According to Yusov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov also has reasons to fear for his future.

"The fact that Gerasimov has recently been trying to imitate activity, to show that he is alive, young, vigorous, etc. also indicates that he is afraid and that he has something to worry about regarding his future," the DIU representative said.

Yusov also added that it is possible that Russian General Sergei Surovikin, who "disappeared" after the Wagner mutiny, will return to the front.

Answering a question about the dissatisfaction of Russian officers with Gerasimov, he noted that "strategically, the Russian Federation still understands that it was an absolutely idiotic idea to attack Ukraine". The occupiers did not achieve any of the goals of the "special operation", "which means that they will be looking for the extreme and scapegoats," Yusov said.

"And the military personnel, of course, are already beginning to realise that they are being prepared for this role. They don't like it, so they are trying to fight back somehow, to snap back, so far in a quiet way behind the scenes," the DIU representative said.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- Earlier, the DIU said that the Wagner rebellion led by Prigozhin exposed big problems in the strength of Putin's power. The Kremlin's "machine" turned out to be corroded and cracked, and the dictator himself was unable to hold the reins of power.

- Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak noted that the Kremlin regime is increasingly moving the war to the territory of the Russian Federation, which, according to him, will inevitably lead to civil war, the demise of the ruling elite and the political transformation of the aggressor country.
