The blow was so strong that everything was scattered: new details of the Armed Forces attack on the occupiers' training ground in Donetsk region and the list of those killed. Photos
As a result of a missile strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on February 20 on a training ground in the Donetsk region, at least 68 soldiers of the 36th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade (military unit 06705) from Trans-Baikal were killed. This number of deaths became known from a list circulated in Russian volunteer chats.
This was reported by Vazhdennye Istori. In addition, some of the occupiers on the list posted comments on their social media pages confirming their deaths.
One of the unit's employees confirmed to the publication that such a number of Russian soldiers were killed while lining up in front of the commander of the 29th Army of the Eastern District, Major General Oleg Moiseev. According to him, the impact was so strong that"everything flew apart" and"there were a lot of wounded," some of whom were sent to a hospital in Rostov-on-Don.
The names of 66 soldiers are known, but two could not be identified. The publication also found pages on social media that probably belonged to some of the dead. For example, comments appeared under the photo of one of the deceased, Oleksandr Rustamov: "Rest in peace, Sasha!", "I love you, daddy, soft clouds".
Oleksandr himself had last logged into his account a day earlier. In January, he was still raising money on behalf of the soldiers of the 36th Brigade for "equipment to quickly and effectively combat nationalist air targets."
The day before the incident, other soldiers from the list also appeared online: Oleksandr Pusev, Serhiy Petrov, Oleksiy Filimonov, Vitaliy Ishchenko and Denys Sakhatsky.
A large number of wounded and dead are also reported in the occupiers' volunteer chats. In particular, Russian volunteers are concerned about whether there are enough packages for the "200s".
"Less than two months ago, we were congratulating young, cheerful men on the New Year, they all dreamed of getting home to their "Snow Maidens" as soon as possible, and today hundreds of families are in trouble, forever ... I want to howl at this realization. But you don't howl, you ask gently if there are enough packages for 200 people. Thinking to yourself: we need to order urgently, we are completely out of stock," they write.
