"The advance of the Defense Forces is inevitable": Russian troops are trying to tighten the defense in Kherson and Crimea

On the left bank of the Kherson region, the Russian invaders are making efforts to strengthen their defense. They are actively building defensive structures - despite the fact that during the occupation of this part of the region, Russian troops have already built powerful defense lines on the second and third lines.

This was stated by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, during a telethon. She explained the actions of the invaders by the fact that they are aware of the inevitability of the advance of the Defense Forces.

Gumenyuk stated that the invaders are actively building defensive structures on the left bank of the Kherson region in addition to those already built earlier.

"They continue to form defensive structures despite the fact that their second and third lines are heavily fortified. The enemy troops have been there for a long time, so they had the resources and time to equip themselves," she noted.

Humeniuk explained the occupiers' actions by the realization that "the advance of the Defense Forces is inevitable."

The invaders are also actively mining the territory, while trying to remedy the consequences of the spontaneous mining that occurred after the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.

"Minefields set up along the water's edge were spontaneously moved by water to different distances. They are still working against the occupiers, and the undermining of their units continues," noted Humeniuk.

The invaders are also preparing for defense in the temporarily occupied Crimea. On the peninsula, in particular in its northern part, the occupiers are also building defensive fortifications. The reason for this is the approach of the Defense Forces to these borders.

Earlier, Humeniuk said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are working to expand their foothold on the left bank of the Kherson region. They are doing this in extremely difficult conditions.

The Russian invaders do not stop their assaults and attempts to drive Ukrainian soldiers from the bridgehead. However, the Defense Forces are not only repelling the attacks, but are also trying to take new positions. Humeniuk emphasized that the work of the soldiers on the left bank looks too slow from the outside, but in the conditions in which it is carried out, every meter of land liberated is a significant achievement.
