War in Ukraine
Street battles continue: the National Guard showed what the streets of Chasiv Yar look like now. Video
Chasiv Yar remains one of the hottest spots on the frontline. Street fighting continues unabated, and the Russian occupiers continue to try to break through the defense.
Soldiers of the Donbas Special Forces Battalion of the 18th Slavic Brigade of the National Guard showed how the streets of the city look like now. The video was published on the official Telegram channel of the National Guard Commander Oleksandr Pivnenko.
Despite the active fighting, 205 local residents still remain in Chasiv Yar. The head of the city's military administration, Serhii Chaus, said that over the past 10 days, their number has decreased by 15 people. The people who are still in the city are virtually cut off from the outside world – there is almost no communication, and the delivery of humanitarian aid is becoming increasingly dangerous and difficult.
The situation is critical – the enemy acts in "waves," from time to time reducing the intensity of attacks to regroup their forces.
For some time, Chasiv Yar has been holding out, and Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back the Russian onslaught, giving the enemy no chance to advance.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the spokesman for the United Territorial Administration "Luhansk" Dmytro Zaporozhets said that Russian troops are trying to break through the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Chasiv Yar. The occupants are carrying out assault actions from the Pivdennyi district, advancing to the central part of the city under the cover of a smoke screen.
