The Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Naev conducted training of counter-sabotage forces and means in the Kyiv direction, in particular in the Chornobyl zone. Units of the State Border Guard Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine took part in the training.

As part of the event, Naev met with representatives of the Northern Operational Zone's RMA, the commander said on his Telegram channel. "The event was aimed at demonstrating how to equip the state border of Ukraine and what methods can be used to combat saboteurs on the state border of Ukraine," he said (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the news).

Naev added that a unified approach to strengthening the border and equipping it with video cameras and other technical means has been jointly developed, which will help our soldiers accurately target the enemy in case of attempts to break through.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that according to the legend of the exercise, a sabotage and reconnaissance group tried to cross the Ukrainian border and move deeper into the country. Operators were then working with monitoring and reconnaissance equipment joined in, and an anti-sabotage reserve was sent.

At the same time, the enemy was hit by fire. The fire was adjusted both by UAVs and video cameras. Minefields were also being blown up. The enemy's attempt to break through was prevented.

"Such trainings are held very often according to the plan of the respective commanders because the counter-sabotage defense forces must be in constant readiness. In addition, we are constantly working on improving fortification equipment, as well as strengthening the state border of Ukraine and saturating it with technical surveillance equipment," the General Staff quoted Naev as saying.

The event also included a meeting with representatives of the Northern Operational Zone's RMA to demonstrate how the border should be technically equipped and what methods can be used to combat saboteurs, the General Staff said.

As a reminder, the Russian offensive on Kyiv in February 2022 took place from the Chornobyl zone and Belarus from the northwestern direction.
