Sumy told about the consequences of the night attack of the "Shahed"

In Sumy, the debris is being cleared at the site of a Russian "Shahed" strike on a high-rise building. Several floors of a panelized building there have collapsed on top of each other.

A spokesperson for the State Emergency Service spoke about the rescue and search operations in the building in a video posted on the Sumy Info Telegram channel. According to him, the building is a panel house, and the upper four floors are now on the ground floor.

"The amount of rubble is very large: concrete slabs and debris. There is still a lot of work to be done," he emphasized.

"The work to eliminate the consequences of the strike has been going on since the first minutes of the strike. In the morning we managed to rescue 10 people from the destroyed house. 5 of them were unblocked. Another 8 were injured," added the rescuer.

At 15:42, the State Emergency Service reported that rescuers unblocked the body of the second victim of the enemy attack while clearing the rubble of a destroyed 5-story building.

"At present, we know about 2 dead and 8 injured people as a result of the nighttime Russian attack on the city. The work is ongoing," the SES said.

Oleksiy Drozdenko, the head of Sumy CMA, said that two relief headquarters have been set up and dormitories have been prepared for the residents of the building affected by the Russian attack.

According to the acting mayor Artem Kobzar, kindergartens, schools and extracurricular activities in Sumy will be operating in a remote format until the end of the week. At the same time, kindergartens will have regular groups, and schools will have regular classes, if necessary. Next Monday will be a vacation.

According to Radio Liberty, at least three people have gone missing as a result of the nighttime Russian attack.

As of the evening of March 13, two men were reported dead, 10 other residents were rescued by the SES, and 12 people sustained injuries of varying severity.

"At the Point of Unbreakability, which is deployed on the basis of the SES tent and operates around the clock, 279 citizens were provided with assistance in heating and solving domestic problems. Psychologists of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Sumy region and the Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy region provided psychological assistance to 57 citizens," the CMA reported.

President Zelensky showed footage of the rescue operation in Sumy. He noted that all the necessary services and equipment were involved.

"All those affected will be provided with assistance. I am grateful to each and every person who works for the sake of people and helps in the rescue efforts," the President emphasized.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on March 13, the occupiers attacked Sumy with Shahed-type kamikaze drones. Explosions were heard, and a multi-apartment building was hit. Preliminarily, 30 apartments in the five-story building were damaged, 15 of which were destroyed.
