Scholz avoided giving clear answers on Taurus missiles and Ukraine's prospects in NATO, calling for increased support for Kyiv instead

Scholz ignores questions about Taurus missiles and Ukraine's prospects in NATO

German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz evaded answering questions about the supply of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine and our country's prospects in NATO. He called the question about the need to supply cruise missiles "strange" and added that Berlin spends more on arms supplies than other European countries.

In addition, the chancellor ignored the question about Ukraine's prospects in NATO, adding that the West would not send its troops to the front to avoid a direct confrontation with Russia. Scholz said this in a speech at the Munich conference.

The head of the German government was asked several times why his country has not yet decided to supply cruise missiles to the Ukrainian army. Scholz evaded a direct answer, but said that Germany spends on arms supplies to Ukraine in Europe the most.

At the same time, he added that it was necessary to find the "best moment" to supply these missiles. It should be noted that the politician did not deny the possibility of supplying Taurus missiles in the future.

"It is important to make the right decisions at the right time. And we are making these decisions. Step by step, we continue to make the right decisions," the Chancellor said briefly.

MP Oleksii Honcharenko emphasized on his Telegram that Scholz also avoided giving a clear answer about Ukraine's prospects in NATO. He noted that the German Chancellor's hints about Ukraine's membership in the Alliance after the war means that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has a green light to continue the war and attempts to destroy our country.

"We have formulated clear decisions on NATO in Vilnius. There are declarations on how we will deal with it, so there is no point in going into details. I can say that we have written down these words very sincerely and take them seriously," Scholz said.

It is worth noting that Scholz also called on EU countries to provide more assistance to Ukraine, which is under attack from Russia. He explained that the security of European countries depends on providing assistance to Kyiv.
