The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, said that Russians should not fight sanctions. Instead, they should work on getting rid of dictator Vladimir Putin.

Yermak posted the statement on his official Telegram channel on August 4. "The common goal of all Russians should be the liberation of Russia from the insane dictator Putin and his regime, not the fight against sanctions," he wrote.

According to Yermak, sanctions should only be strengthened as long as Moscow continues its armed aggression against Ukraine.

"Because the whole essence of Putin's regime is the desire for genocide, the destruction of Ukrainians as a nation, the seizure of territory. And sanctions are what restrain the regime's military machine and prevent it from developing its desire to kill people and children," Yermak said.

The head of the OP added: the real goal should be to strengthen sanctions until the Russian military-industrial complex is completely stopped, the inability to make money on energy exports, and with it - the war.

"Because the crimes of the regime only deprive all Russians of the future," he added.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on August 1, in Ankara, Turkey, a prisoner exchange took place between Russia and Belarus, as well as the United States, Germany and Slovenia.

Moscow released WSJ journalist Evan Hershkovich and former US Marine Paul Whelan, and in return, in particular, received FSB killer Vadim Krasikov and spy couple Maltsev, who posed as Argentine citizens in Slovenia.

The Russians released as a result of the big exchange immediately called on the West to ease sanctions against Russia. In particular, Andrei Pivovarov decided to "expose the myth that Russians are hated abroad" and said that they need to "lend a hand." And Vladimir Kara-Murza promised to continue working on the introduction of sanctions, but exclusively against the regime in Russia, calling "not to confuse the Kremlin regime and Russia."
