On Wednesday night, October 18, the occupation forces of the aggressor country Russia launched six missile strikes on the territory of Zaporizhzhia. One of them hit a multi-story building in the city center, trapping residents under the rubble.
Two people were killed, several others were injured and several are missing. This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Yuriy Malashko, on his Telegram channel (scroll down to the end to see the photos).
According to him, the occupiers fired at the city with missiles, the type of which is being established. The shelling lasted from 01:33 to 01:48. It damaged eight apartments in a high-rise building.
"The residents of the house have been evacuated. Everyone will be provided with temporary housing. Work continues," he wrote.
Secretary of Zaporizhzhia City Council Anatoliy Kurtev wrote on Telegram that a search and rescue operation at the site of the destroyed apartment building is underway.
As of 05:00, two people were reported dead and four injured. Three more people were reported missing.
"Apartments in two entrances of the building have been partially destroyed. People continue to be assisted by public buses, the city council tent, and the nearest Point of Invincibility," he wrote.
Suspilne reported that rescuers allowed residents of some entrances of the high-rise to go inside for 15 minutes to pick up the most necessary things.
Preliminary, Russians fired at Zaporizhzhia with S-300 missiles. One of them hit a multi-story building, the other one hit behind it, and it is not known about the others.
"Law enforcement agencies are looking for where exactly it happened, but there have been no reports so far," said the head of the RMA.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on October 17, the Russian occupation army committed another terrorist attack in the Donetsk region. The invaders attacked a dormitory building in Sloviansk.
