The Russian occupation forces continue to try to "regain" control of Snake Island. They will not succeed in doing so, as it is no longer possible to drive the Ukrainian garrison out of there.

This was stated in the documentary project "DIU. The Battle for the Sea", said Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. He noted that the enemy regularly launches missile and bomb attacks.

"Several times, information was passed and we saw its confirmation - about conducting a similar operation as we once did. But they could not do it, because it is no longer possible to knock the garrison off the island," the head of the DIU emphasized.

Russian troops regularly try to recapture Snake Island: Budanov says why it is impossible

According to Budanov, the occupiers have their own maritime drone developments and have tried to use them.

"Once we saw their real use, but all other cases were unsuccessful. There was a technical reason," explained the country's chief intelligence officer.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- Earlier, Budanov said that the DIU helps Russian volunteers from the Freedom of Russia Legion, the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC) and the Siberian Battalion, which operate in Russia. The soldiers' task is to help Ukraine defend its territorial integrity.

- Budanov also said that the limited military operation of Russian volunteers in the Belgorod and Kursk regions of the aggressor country is the beginning of the fight for their homeland. The insurgents' struggle is entering a new phase - not only to fight against the fascist regime, but also to unite opposition forces.
