Russian troops have twice tried to attack the DIU building with missiles, most recently at the end of May - The Economist
The Russian terrorist army has already twice tried to attack the building of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine with missiles. The last unsuccessful attempt was made at the end of May 2023.
By such actions, the Russian occupiers are trying to intimidate and paralyse the actions of Ukrainian military intelligence officers. Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said this in an interview with The Economist.
According to him, Russia's first missile attack on the DIU building occurred at the beginning of the full-scale invasion in March 2022. Then, as a result of a missile strike, windows flew out of the DIU headquarters and some parts of the building collapsed.
At the time of the missile strike, Budanov had people in his reception room who had to quickly fall to the floor to protect themselves from the debris.
Another attempted missile attack on the DIU building took place on 29 May this year. That time, Russian terrorists used ballistic and cruise missiles. The air defence forces neutralised the enemy missiles, but the debris damaged vehicles and a neighbouring building.
It is worth noting that despite the failure, the day after the missile attack, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin claimed that the occupiers had allegedly "destroyed" Patriot air defence system. For their part, Kremlin propagandists claimed that Budanov was allegedly injured and evacuated to Germany. However, as is usually the case, the statements made by the Kremlin killer and Russian propagandists turned out to be lies.
As a reminder, there were explosions in Kyiv on 29 May. Then Ukrainian air defence systems shot down enemy missiles. An air alert was declared in the city and the region. In the Obolon district, missile fragments fell on the roadway.
Earlier it was reported that the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, commented on the Russian propaganda about his alleged serious injury and death. He trolled the occupiers by sending greetings to disgraced ex-MP from the banned OPFL (Opposition platform - For life) party in Ukraine, Ilya Kivi, who fled to Russia.
