Russian troops expand attacks on Kupianske direction, Ukrainian Defence Forces continue offensive in the south - General Staff

The 502nd day of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine is underway. The enemy is focusing its main efforts on the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka directions, and heavy fighting continues there. There were 17 combat engagements over the last day.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an evening report on 10 July.

According to the General Staff, during the day the enemy launched a missile attack on the territory of one of the infrastructure facilities in Mykolaiv, as well as 22 air strikes and carried out approximately 30 attacks from multiple rocket launchers on the territory of Ukraine.

The situation in the Volyn and Polissya sectors remained unchanged.

In the Bakhmut sector, under heavy fire from enemy aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks near the village of Hryhorivka in Donetsk region, the General Staff said.

In the Avdiivka sector, the Defence Forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the area of the Northern Donetsk region. The enemy conducted an air strike in the area of Avdiivka.

In the Maryinka sector, under hostile artillery fire, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled all enemy attacks in the vicinity of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on preventing further advance of our troops.

At the same time, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating their positions, inflicting artillery fire on the enemy targets identified, and carrying out counter-battery measures.

Over the last day, the defence forces' aviation carried out 4 strikes on the area where enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed 3 reconnaissance UAVs of operational and tactical level.

Over the past day, rocket and artillery units hit a command post, 3 areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, an ammunition depot, 7 artillery pieces at firing positions and one occupier air defence system.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Ukrainian defenders eliminated another 440 Russian occupants and 28 units of their equipment and weapons at the frontline over the past day. In particular, they burned a number of armoured vehicles and artillery systems.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine 502 days ago, the Russian army has lost the most personnel - as of the morning of 10 July, 234,480 Russian occupiers have been "cancelled out".

In addition to manpower, the day before, the defenders "demilitarised" seven tanks (4,085 in total), five artillery systems (4,371), two armoured combat vehicles (7,966), and one air defence system (414) of the enemy.

On the ground, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also destroyed eight units of Russian vehicles and tankers (6937 in total), four units of special equipment (632), and in the sky - one operational and tactical UAV (3686).

Among other enemy equipment and weapons, 1,271 cruise missiles, 668 MLRS, 315 aircraft, 309 helicopters, and 18 ships/boats have been destroyed.
