Russian troops deliberately target civilians to break will to resist, - Ukrainian representative to the OSCE

Russian shelling has become a daily reality in Ukraine

The criminal army of Russia is deliberately attacking the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian cities, which leads to casualties among the Ukrainian people, destruction of homes, hospitals and schools. In this way, the occupiers are trying to break the will of Ukrainians to resist.

This was stated by Deputy Permanent Representative of Ukraine to International Organizations in Vienna Natalia Kostenko during a meeting of the Forum for Security Cooperation on October 11, Ukrinform reports. She reminded that, according to the report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, almost 10,000 civilians have been killed and tens of thousands more injured as a result of the Russian invasion.

The diplomat emphasized that Russian shelling has become a daily reality in Ukraine, and it is impossible to predict where a Russian missile will hit next.

"However, there is one grim certainty: civilians and peaceful cities will be targeted by Russian troops. To put this into perspective, over the past 24 hours alone, Russia has carried out air strikes on 21 Ukrainian settlements and shelled more than 130 settlements across the country with artillery," said Kostenko.

Nevertheless, Ukrainian troops continue to conduct successful offensive operations in Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, more than three weeks have passed since the last Russian massive shelling of Ukraine, including the capital Kyiv. During this time, Russia has apparently amassed missiles and drones for another powerful strike. It probably already has 30 to 40 X-101\555 missiles and up to 20 Kalibr sea-launched missiles in stock, experts Vladyslav Selezniov and Oleksandr Kovalenko noted.
