Russian troops conducted assault operations near Klishchiyivka and Maryinka, but were repulsed by Ukrainian Armed Forces - General Staff
Over the past day, 36 combat engagements took place on the Ukrainian front, during which the Defense Forces repelled attacks by Russian troops in almost all frontline areas. In particular, the enemy was prevented from advancing in the vicinity of Kupyansk, Klishchiyivka, Avdiivka, Maryinka, and Staromayorske.
Theoccupants continue to strike at the positions of our troops and localities: the day before, it was seven missile and 90 air strikes(on 34 villages and towns), 82 attacks with MLRS on more than 110 localities, which led to deaths and injuries, and destruction of civilian infrastructure. The situation was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a morning report on October 31, the 615th day of the full-scale war.
It is noted that in the Volyn and Polissya directions, which are in the area of responsibility of the operational and strategic group of troops (OSG) "North", the operational situation remains without significant changes.

In the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of the Armed Forces to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the border in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.
In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia separate military unit in the Kupyansk sector, the occupiers conducted unsuccessful assault operations near Synkivka, Kharkiv region. Our defenders repelled two enemy attacks there.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive actions in the Liman sector. In the Bakhmut sector, he tried unsuccessfully to regain his lost position in the area of Klishchiyivka, as the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled three of his attacks. Ukrainian soldiers continue assault operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian Armed Forces, and consolidating their positions.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria Brigade in the Avdiivka sector, the Russian army continues to try to encircle Avdiivka, but our defenders are holding steadfast, inflicting significant losses. The enemy's offensive actions were unsuccessful not only in the areas of Avdiivka, but also in Tonenke and Pervomayske, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled more than five of its attacks.

In the Maryinka sector, the occupants conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka. Ukrainian troops repelled over 15 attacks there.
In the Shakhtarsk and Zaporizhzhia sectors, the Defense Forces repelled a Russian attack near Staromayorske in the Donetsk region.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to conduct an offensive in the Melitopol sector, inflicting losses on Russian troops and depleting them along the entire front line. In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Joint Forces Operation Center in the Kherson sector, Ukrainian soldiers are conducting counter-battery combat and inflicting fire damage on the enemy's rear.

The daybefore, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 19 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, and another on an anti-aircraft missile system of the Russian Armed Forces. Air defense shot down two guided missiles, 12 strike missiles and six reconnaissance UAVs.
The missile units hit a Russian air defense system, five areas of occupants' concentration with weapons and equipment, nine artillery pieces and six other important enemy targets.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, German journalist and military analyst Julian Röpke called the Russian army's attack on Avdiivka a "meat assault." He emphasized that the Russian losses near this city are enormous.
