On the night of February 25, the troops of theRussian terrorist state struck the town of Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region. Allegedly, enemy KAB-250s destroyed the railway station, damaged educational institutions, a church and many other buildings.

A75-year-old woman was injured. The shelling was reported on local Telegram channels, and later on to the regional military administration, police and prosecutor's office.

According to residents of Kostyantynivka, which is actually 20 kilometers from the front line, powerful explosions in the town occurred after 02:00 on Sunday.

Just a minute before, an air raid alert was announced in the region. At the same time, the Ukrainian Air Force issued a warning about the threat of enemy ballistic missile attacks from the east.

Eyewitnesses published a photo of the arrival without reference to the place of impact. The picture shows a destroyed building and fire behind it.

Rescuers worked all night and almost until no on on Sunday to extinguish a fire caused by enemy shelling.

The head of the Donetsk regional military administration Vadym Filashkin noted that the occupants wounded one civilian during the shelling of Kostyantynivka. In particular, a woman sustained light injuries.

The city's railway station building, a church, two private and 12 apartment buildings, 21 shops, 19 trade pavilions, three educational institutions, two administrative buildings, a post office, and a kiosk were damaged .

The Donetsk regional prosecutor's office has previously stated that the occupiers struck Kostiantynivka with guided aerial bombs. Law enforcement officers were working at the site of the attack, recording the consequences of the Russian war crime.

According to the investigation, on the night of February 25, 2024, Russian troops attacked an infrastructure facility (train station) in Kostiantynivka, allegedly using KAB-250.

A 75-year-old woman was wounded in the explosion: at the time of the attack, she was in her own home, which was hit by enemy weapons. Many buildings and facilities were also damaged.

Under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated in criminal proceedings over violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Ukrzaliznytsia commented on the Russian shelling, emphasizing that the Kostiantynivka railway station had been out of service for a long time, not receiving trains or serving passengers, but now it is completely destroyed.

"Before the full-scale invasion, Kostiantynivka was the terminus of more than ten long-distance trains and more than 15 suburban trains. The building itself also had historical and artistic value. At the very beginning of the Great War, the station in Kostiantynivka was an important point of evacuation for the population of Donetsk region," UZ noted.

Also last night, the enemy shelled the town of Selydove, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region. The City Military Administration reported damage to a cafe building. No one was killed or injured.
