Russian troops struck at a residential building in Kramatorsk

In the morning of March 14, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the center of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. A multi-apartment residential building was reportedly hit - a total of 25 multi-storey buildings, a kindergarten, a museum, and an administrative building were damaged.

As of 10 a.m., at least one civilian was killed and three wounded. The Office of the Prosecutor General reported about it.

"On the morning of March 14, 2023, the Russian occupation forces fired a rocket at the central part of Kramatorsk. The missile hit an apartment building. Four wounded were rescued from the rubble. One victim died in the hospital, and three other citizens received qualified medical care. The ceiling and wall of one of the entrances were damaged, windows and balconies were smashed. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. The number of victims is still being established," the statement said at 10:10 a.m.

Currently, under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated in criminal proceedings over violation of the laws and customs of war (§2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Prosecutors, law enforcement officers and rescuers are working at the site.

According to Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, six high-rise buildings were damaged by the strike.

"At least three civilians were wounded in the morning shelling of Kramatorsk. Russians hit the city center with a missile. According to preliminary information, six high-rise buildings were damaged. Law enforcement and rescuers are working at the site of the shelling," Kyrylenko said at 9:47 a.m.

Meanwhile, the Kramatorsk City Council informed damage to 25 apartment buildings and one private house, as well as a kindergarten, a museum and an administrative building, Suspilne reports.

The shelling took place around 8:30 a.m.

"I was at home with my family. On the fourth floor, next door to the house. There was such a noise... It was a deafening explosion. The plates fell off the table, everything. I jumped out, thinking what's going on here. And I saw this," Yevhen, a resident of the city, told reporters.

At the same time, he does not want to leave the city because "firstly, I am a military man, and secondly, I am old - where can I go?"

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to another Russian terrorist attack.

"Kramatorsk. A Russian missile hit the city center. Six high-rise buildings were damaged. At least three people were injured. One person died. My condolences to the family! Rescue operations are still ongoing. The evil state continues to fight against civilians. Destroying life and leaving nothing human. Every strike that takes an innocent life must result in a lawful and just sentence that punishes murder. It will definitely be that way," the Head of State assured.

More and more photos and videos are appearing online that record the aftermath of the missile strike at the apartment building.

Meanwhile, a Radio Liberty correspondent from the scene reports at least one dead person.

"Strike on Kramatorsk: one dead person was seen on the spot by our correspondent. Russian troops struck around 8:30 a.m. Partially destroyed the entrance of the house, damaged houses nearby," the report says.

As reported earlier, Human Rights Watch has completed an investigation into the rocket attack on the railway station in Kramatorsk. At least 58 people were killed in the attack in April 2022.

Human rights activists found that the attack was launched from the territory that was seized by the Russian military at the time. They used the Tochka-U tactical ballistic missile to launch the attack.
