On the night of May 10, Russian troops shelled a residential area in Kharkiv. Fires broke out amid destroyed and damaged private houses, and two people were injured.
Explosions were heard in the city around 03:20. Telegram channel Nikolaevsky Vanyok reported that the enemy was using ballistic missiles, preliminarily S-300 missiles.
According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the Russian occupation forces hit a residential area, where private houses caught fire, with missiles.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, has previously indicated that a private house was damaged as a result of the strike on the regional center. One casualty was reported.
He also added that Russian troops struck the town of Derhachi in the Kharkiv district.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian war criminals used two S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation to attack Kharkiv.
In the morning, Oleh Syniehubov clarified that 12 private residential buildings were damaged in Kharkiv. An 11-year-old child and a 72-year-old woman were injured as a result of the enemy shelling. It was reported that they had an acute stress reaction.
"Civilian infrastructure and residential areas are, as always, the main targets," RMA head said.
On May 8, a residential area in Kharkiv's Saltiv district came under Russian attack. Seven people were injured, including four children.
As reported, Russian occupation forces have intensified attacks on Kharkiv and other border regions in northeastern Ukraine, shelling mostly civilian infrastructure. Military experts say that this terror is part of the aggressor's plan to intimidate the population in preparation for a possible offensive on Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
