Russian occupiers have not entered Stepove near Avdiivka, battles continue, according to a Ukrainian serviceman

The Russian terrorist army continues to deploy significant forces towards the Avdiivka direction to capture new territories. Traditionally, Kremlin propaganda falsely attributes successes to the invaders.

Simultaneously, the Ukrainian Armed Forces deny any substantial progress by the enemy near Avdiivka. Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Serhii Volkov made this statement during an information marathon.

The soldier explained that due to the short distances, neither the occupiers nor Ukrainian soldiers could assert control over a specific area near Avdiivka. Additionally, he refuted the Russian propaganda claims that the enemy had seized control of the Avdiivka spoil heap.

"In reality, battles are ongoing. Just as they claim to control the Avdiivka spoil heap, they do not have control because we are actively engaging it. They are unable to establish authority there. Regarding artillery control, it's challenging to determine at every 100 meters. So, similar to their inability to claim control, we cannot confirm their control over the area," stated the Ukrainian defender.

Furthermore, the serviceman mentioned that the Ukrainian command avoids sending personnel for reckless frontal counterattacks. Instead, they make extensive use of artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles near Avdiivka.

"There is significant artillery and counter-battery engagement. These activities are carefully documented by the infantry. However, there's little sense in keeping infantry troops in position or sending them for frontal assaults. This is why our military leadership prioritizes the well-being of our personnel and refrains from deploying them in such assaults or frontal counterattacks. We predominantly rely on artillery and UAVs, which essentially perform the functions of small arms or pinpoint artillery," explained the serviceman.

As a reminder, the Russian army continues to destroy Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, the town is becoming similar to Maryinka, which the enemy has virtually wiped out. The occupiers are shelling residential buildings, administrative buildings and deliberately shooting at places where local residents are gathered.

Earlier it was reported that units of the Russian occupation army are now trying to surround the Ukrainian garrison from the north and south in Avdiivka, the Donetsk region. The outcome of this battle depends on the availability of resources of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the head of Avdiivka City Military Administration Barabash said that the invaders are preparing for the third wave of the attack on the city. It will take place as soon as weather conditions allow.
