Russian missile strike on Sumy region damages grain trucks: one person killed, five injured. Photo
On Saturday evening, August 31, Russian occupants attacked the Sumy-Kharkiv highway near the village of Verkhnya Syrovatka, Sumy district. The missile attack damaged a convoy of grain trucks.
In addition, the shelling killed a 23-year-old driver and injured 5 other people, including the drivers. The Sumy Regional Military Administration, the National Police of Ukraine, and the Sumy Prosecutor's Office reported on the consequences of the shelling.
"On the evening of August 31, 2024, the enemy launched a missile attack on the territory of one of the communities of the Sumy district," the statement said.
The attack damaged grain trucks. These vehicles were intended for harvesting and transportation of crops. One truck caught fire and about 20 were damaged.
It is noted that one person was killed and five others were injured as a result of the attack. Medical services are providing the victims with the necessary assistance. Emergency services continue to assess the extent of the damage and the consequences of the attack.
The Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office is conducting a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Russian Federation troops also attacked Cherkaska Lozova near Kharkiv on Saturday afternoon, August 31. At least two people were killed and eight were wounded (as of 16:30).
The enemy shelled both Cherkaska Lozova and Kharkiv itself. Preliminary, enemy aircraft dropped guided bombs.
As reported, on the morning of August 31, the Russian Armed Forces shelled the village of Novoosynove, Kupiansk district, Kharkiv region. Three civilians were injured.
