Russian Investigative Committee officer, who fought against Ukraine, eliminated in Belgorod: DIU discloses details of "bavovna"

A Russian officer was "demilitarized" during the "bavovna" in Belgorod on December 30

On December 30, an officer of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation was killed in Belgorod, Russia, during a Ukrainian UAV attack. We are talking about Senior Lieutenant Mikhail Konopitsyn, who took part in the war against Ukraine.

This occupier was involved in the targeting of anti-tank missiles at the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the General Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

As a reminder, on the night of December 30, more than 70 Ukrainian drones attacked military facilities in Belgorod and the region, from where Russian troops often fire S-300 missiles at Kharkiv region. The attack continued on Saturday afternoon and was the aggressor's response to the massive shelling of Ukraine on December 29. Russian propagandists claimed that the air defense system "shot down all targets" and at the same time reported destruction, casualties and injuries.

According to the GUR, this "cotton" thinned the ranks of officers of the Russian occupation forces. In particular, 27-year-old Senior Lieutenant of Justice Mykhailo Konopitsyn went to the other side. Until recently, he had fought against the Ukrainian Defense Forces at the front as a platoon commander of the invaders' anti-tank missile platoon.

Russian media outlets cited the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee as saying that Konopitsyn was an investigator at the military investigation department of the Mulinsky garrison. On November 19, he was sent to Belgorod "to investigate war crimes committed by the Kyiv regime against civilians and the Russian military."

"Mikhail Yurievich only joined the structure of the military investigative bodies of the ICR in May of this year. On January 6, 2024, he would have turned 28 years old," the propagandists lamented.

They said that a criminal case had been opened over the occupier's death, and the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, "expressed his condolences" to Konopitsyn's family and "instructed to provide full support to his family."

"He did not investigate it further," the GUR briefly commented on the death of this war criminal.

The agency also reminded that due to the losses in the war against Ukraine, the Russian army has an acute shortage of junior officers and ordered to accelerate the training of lieutenants.

As OBOZ.UA reported, according to the Institute for War Studies, on December 30, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck many of the planned targets in and around Belgorod. Russian defense industry and military infrastructure facilities were hit there.

At an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council, which Russia convened because of the events in Belgorod, the US representative told the aggressor that "Putin chose this war." He emphasized that the Russians must recognize that they are paying the price for the war they unleashed against Ukraine.
