Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with Shaheds and missiles: air defense systems were activated in Kyiv and Vinnytsia regions, there are hits to power facilities
On the night of June 1, the terrorist state of Russia launched Shahed-136 attack drones and missiles against Ukraine. Air defense systems were activated in Kyiv and Vinnytsia regions during the air alert, enemy missiles were also spotted in Odesa, Poltava, and Dnipro regions, and a missile threat was announced for the western regions.
Later, it became known that during the night attack, Russia had again targeted the Ukrainian energy system. Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko confirmed that Russian troops had attacked power facilities in five regions.
This was reported in the Telegram of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration. They urged local residents to take shelter until the end of the day.
Later, the enemy launched Tu-95MS, and launches of Kalibr were also recorded.
Explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia around 3 am. Enemy missiles were spotted in the airspace of Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Odesa regions, as well as on the border of Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions; in the northern part of Khmelnytskyi region.
The Ukrainian Air Force warned of an increased threat to the city of Stryi in Lviv region, as well as to Dnipro and Kremenchuk.
After the air alert was over, the head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Borzov, said that the falling wreckage of the downed drone had started a fire at a critical infrastructure facility. All relevant services are working at the scene.
According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
The head of the Kirovohrad regional administration, Andriy Raykovych, also announced the arrival. According to him, an energy infrastructure facility was hit. The consequences of the attack are being cleaned up by specialists, and there were no casualties.
Attacks on power facilities were also confirmed in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In the first case, destruction was recorded, and in the second, several fires broke out. In both regions, there were no casualties.
In Zaporizhzhia, the Dnipro hydroelectric power station was temporarily blocked after the night attack.
In Ivano-Frankivsk region, a massive fire broke out after a hit on an energy infrastructure facility. According to Svitlana Onyshchuk, head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, 101 firefighters and 33 pieces of equipment were engaged to eliminate the fire.
Minister Galushchenko also noted in the morning: "Russia has again targeted the Ukrainian energy sector. Energy facilities in five regions were hit: Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. The consequences of the strikes are being investigated, and power engineers are working to eliminate them.
Meanwhile, DTEK reported serious damage to two thermal power plants after the night attack by Russia.
On the night of May 31, Ukrainian air defenders neutralized four Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones over a number of regions. And in the morning, they destroyed an enemy high-speed target flying toward Kyiv – an Iskander-K missile.
The aggressor also attacked Kharkiv with five S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation. Terrorists hit an apartment building in the middle of the night, killing six people. The enemy again used the tactic of a double strike while medics, rescuers and law enforcement officers were already working at the scene.

– On May 31, Russians attacked Kyiv region with a kamikaze drone. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed the Shahed, no hits to residential or critical infrastructure were recorded.
– Also in Kyiv on May 31, a rocket attack destroyed a transformer substation in the Holosiivskyi district. This left some residents of the capital without electricity.
