Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with four Kinzhal missiles: Air Defense shot down one target, the others struck near Kolomiia airfield
Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down one Kinzhal missile during a massive Russian attack on the morning of August 11. It was hit in the Kyiv region. The enemy launched four missiles aiming at the Kolomiia airfield Kolomyi in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.
This was reported in the Air Forces of the AFU. "Today at about 10:00 the enemy launched four X-47 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from four Mig-31K aircraft. The launches were carried out from the airspace of the Tula and Lipetsk regions of the Russian Federation", the message stated
The AFU added that the missiles entered Ukrainian airspace from the northern direction, heading southwest to the area of Kolomiia airfield.
"One X-47 missile was destroyed within the Kyiv region. The rest struck near the airfield. Civilian infrastructure and housing sector facilities were hit. According to the Ivano-Frankivsk RMA, a child was killed and there are casualties", Air Force said.
The Ukraine became "red" because of the air alert at about 10:00 am. Explosions were heard in Kyiv, Khmelnystkyi and Vinnytsia regions. Air Defense was working.
It is known that the debris of the shot-down missile was found in the capital on the territory of the children's hospital in the Obolonskyi district, as well as in the open area of the dacha cooperative on Bohatyrska street (the roof of a private house was damaged). No victims were recorded.
