Russian army is increasing the intensity of offensive actions in the East: Land Forces commander on the new tactics of AFU. Photos
In eastern Ukraine, the situation at the front remains difficult. Russian occupation forces are increasing the intensity of offensive actions in the Siversky and Bakhmut directions.
This was announced by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on his Telegram channel. On Friday, January 26, he visited the combat areas, where commanders reported to him on the situation at the fronts.
Thus, in the Siversk sector, the Russians continue to advance, trying to improve their tactical position and create conditions for the development of an offensive towards the city of Siversk. The enemy is making unsuccessful attempts to attack in the direction of Kreminna-Hryhorivka. There, the Russian army is acting with assault groups with active support of mortar and artillery crews.
"At the same time, the enemy compensates for its failures in offensive actions by increasing the intensity of fire. In particular, over the last two days, it has been actively shelling the city with artillery and using air strikes and kamikaze drones," Syrskyi noted.
In the Bakhmut direction, the invaders are conducting offensive actions, trying to break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defenses north and west of Bakhmut and develop an offensive on Chasiv Yar. The invaders are regrouping their forces and means and using units of the "volunteer corps". Russian troops are also unsuccessfully trying to regain lost ground in the areas of Klishchiivka and Andriivka.
"Due to the lack of tactical success in certain areas, the enemy has temporarily switched to defensive actions while keeping assault groups ready for offensive actions," the Land Forces commander writes.
About the new tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Syrskyi said that the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the Eastern front are relying on identifying important occupant targets by means of intelligence, delivering precision fire strikes, using kamikaze drones and protecting positions with electronic warfare.
"Despite the fact that our goal is to inflict maximum losses on the enemy, our top priority is always to save the lives of our soldiers. We continue to hold the line and destroy the enemy in all directions," he said.
The commander added that the staffs and commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine respond in a timely manner to any changes in the operational situation. During his stay in the combat zone, Syrskyi discussed with the commanders certain tasks and further actions of the Ukrainian forces. A number of decisions were also made to improve the effectiveness of enemy defeat.
