Russian aircraft attacked Kherson: a bomb hit a 9-story building, children are among the victims. Photos and video

On Wednesday evening, February 19, Russian occupation forces attacked Kherson from the air. One of the enemy's guided aerial bombs hit a high-rise building: six people were injured, including two twin children.

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, reported this on Telegram. He posted a photo from the site of the Russian shelling, which shows significant damage to apartments and balconies in the building.

The house hit by the occupiers' anti-aircraft missile is located in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson.

"Russian troops attacked Kherson from the air. A guided aerial bomb hit a high-rise building in the Dniprovsky district. Details will follow later," the statement said.

Later it became known that three people were injured, including 13-year-old twins, a boy and a girl.

"They have mine-blast injuries and an acute stress reaction. Currently, the children are in hospital under medical supervision," said the head of the RMA.

The head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Roman Mrochko, said that the enemy dropped three UAVs on Kherson.

"One of the bombs hit a high-rise building in the center of Kherson. Rescuers pulled out 13-year-old twins, a boy and a girl, from the rubble. They have mine-blast injuries and an acute stress reaction. The children are in the hospital under medical supervision. Another man was rescued after the shelling. He has blast and craniocerebral injuries, leg wounds," he said.

In addition, at about 23:40, the Russian army shelled the central district of Kherson with artillery. A 47-year-old local resident was injured. He sustained explosive and craniocerebral injuries, contusion, and leg injuries.

The man was hospitalized. Now doctors are providing him with all the necessary assistance.

"Preliminary, at least six people were injured, including two children. Two people were rescued and taken out of the blocked apartments through the balconies using a ladder. Rescuers are currently inspecting the damaged floors and dismantling the rubble, as there may be people trapped under it," the State Emergency Service said on Thursday morning.

Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation into a war crime (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been initiated. According to the investigation, on February 19, 2025, approximately from 22:30 to 23:40, the Russian occupiers carried out massive air strikes with bombs on Kherson and settlements of the region. In Kherson, a hit was recorded in the central part of the city.

"Six civilians are currently known to have been injured, including two children born in 2011. Civilian objects were damaged and destroyed, including private and apartment buildings, a bus station, a medical center, etc.", the Prosecutor General's Office said.

The debris is being cleared and search operations are underway at the scene. Prosecutors are taking all possible and appropriate measures to document the consequences of the occupiers' attacks on civilians.

As a reminder, on February 19, Russian occupation forces attacked Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region. The enemy shelled villages and the city of Kupiansk with MLRS, bombs, and drones, killing two civilians and injuring many others.
