Russia targets Kharkiv with drones, hitting a multi-storey building: fires broke out, there are eight victims, a girl among them

In the evening of December 20, explosions occurred in Kharkiv, with hits recorded in Saltivskyi and Kyivskyi districts. The total number of victims was at least eight.

Saltivka

At 21:40, an enemy Shahed-136 hit a nine-story residential building in Saltivka, destroying the first two floors. Six civilians, including a child, were injured.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that a fire broke out at the site. "All services are working to eliminate the consequences," he assured on his Telegram channel around 22:00.

As of 22:30, four victims were reported. A 12-year-old girl suffered a light shrapnel wound on her leg. Three people had an acute stress reaction.

At that time, firefighters were extinguishing the fire on the first and second floors (the fire area reached 30 square meters).

"The building is being inspected and people are being interviewed about resettlement," Syniehubov wrote.

By 23:30, the number of victims had increased to six (five of them with acute stress reactions).

The National Police of Ukraine noted that an investigative team, explosives experts, forensic experts, dog handlers, rescuers and medics were working at the scene.

A criminal proceeding was opened over the violation of the laws and customs of war under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Kyivskyi district

At approximately 23:40, another attack took place in the Kyivskyi district of the city. Mayor Ihor Terekhov said that a fire broke out in a private house there. There were people in the house.

As of 00:10 on Saturday, Terekhov reported two victims."People from the burning house were rescued," he wrote.

Solonitsynivka community

Even before midnight, residents of the Solonitsynivka community heard an explosion caused by a Russian drone strike.

"There is a fire in a non-residential building. No casualties," Syniehubov wrote at 23:50.

As reported, on the morning of December 20, Russia launched a combined attack on Kyiv using Kinzhal air defense missiles and Iskander/KN-23 ballistic missiles.

12 people were injured and one civilian was killed. One of the fires in Kyiv region took almost 15 hours to extinguish.

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry reported a "successful strike" on the Ukrainian capital.
