Russia suffered record losses of equipment in October over the past two years of war – Oryx

Russian military equipment destroyed in Ukraine

In October 2024, the Russian occupation army suffered record losses of equipment over the past two years of the full-scale war in Ukraine. In total, the occupiers lost 695 pieces of equipment that were destroyed, damaged, abandoned on the battlefield, or captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The lost equipment includes 253 armored personnel carriers, 103 tanks, 41 armored personnel carriers, four airplanes, and one helicopter. This was reported by Oryx.

According to analysts, the losses of the Ukrainian army in October are much smaller. In particular, during the month, the Armed Forces lost 276 pieces of equipment, including 47 armored personnel carriers, 28 infantry fighting vehicles, 21 tanks, and one aircraft. It is noteworthy that the significant increase in losses in the Russian army's equipment is due to the high rate of the offensive.

Such data indicate that Russia's military and political leadership is ready to continue sacrificing equipment and manpower in order to capture as much Ukrainian territory as possible. This tactic has led to record daily losses of Russian equipment.

It is worth noting that the Russian army suffered more monthly losses than in October 2024 two years ago in October 2022. Then the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 1032 units of enemy equipment, and in September 2022, the losses of occupiers' equipment were a record 1179 units.

Despite the huge losses, in October 2024, the Russians had some success at the front. Data from the Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState show that in the week from October 28 to November 3, the occupiers managed to seize 172 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory, and a week earlier – 196 square kilometers.

As a reminder, Ukrainian soldiers "denazified" 1260 Russian invaders on November 4. Total enemy combat losses in manpower exceeded 701 thousand people.

Earlier it became known that over the past week, Russia lost more than 10,000 troops and about 70 tanks. In total, 1550 pieces of military equipment and weapons were "demilitarized".
