During the New Year holidays, the Russian occupation forces significantly reduced the intensity of hostilities. After the Christmas celebration in Russia on January 7, active fighting is likely to resume as the invaders continue to move equipment to the occupied territories and amass manpower.

This is stated in the summary of the DeepState project as of the end of the day on January 3. According to analysts, the occupiers continue to attack Synkivka in the Svatove direction from the north but without success.

They also tried to attack Ukrainian positions south of Vilshany but also without success. In addition, the enemy tried to improve its tactical position east of Terny, so the fighting continued.

According to the commander of the Ukrainian Army, Oleksandr Syrskyi, enemy assaults near Synkivka continue daily to create a bridgehead and further advance in the Kupyansk direction.

The enemy continues to put pressure near Khromove and south of Bohdanivka in the Bakhmut direction. Some positions were lost, the Russian troops were advancing near Klishchiivka and Andriivka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to recapture the heights of Klishchiivka, but the enemy managed to improve the tactical position near the railway near Andriivka.

Every day in the vicinity of Stepove in the Avdiivka direction begins with an enemy assault but the occupants are "consistently getting their a***s kicked," according to a DeepState report. Near Berdychiv, the enemy took a couple of positions near the railroad. The occupiers are also trying to gain a foothold in Pervomaiske and attack Heorhiivka from Marinka to gain a foothold in the latter village.

No changes in the Berdiansk direction. In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy's December advance between Verbove and Robotyne was clarified at the end of the year. The fighting is now taking place west of Robotyne and west and northwest of Verbove. Defense Forces managed to recapture some positions near Verbove.

The situation in the Tavria sector is difficult, but Ukrainian defenders are managing to hold the bridgehead and even improve their tactical position. At the same time, the enemy controls the river: as soon as our boat appears, "anything is used to attack it," DeepState said.

"During the so-called New Year holidays, the enemy has significantly reduced the intensity of fighting. Most likely, after Moscow's Christmas, active hostilities will resume again. Equipment continues to be transferred from the territory of Russia to the TOT. Moreover, the occupation army is being built up by reducing losses, which is a consequence of the decrease in the intensity of hostilities," the analytical note to the report says.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, according to the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defense Forces repelled nine enemy attacks on the left bank of the Kherson region over the day. At the same time, they continue to expand their foothold and inflict losses on the enemy, who continues to try to drive the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of their positions.
