Russia redeployed tens of thousands of Russian Guard officers to the occupied territories - NRC

Russia has deployed tens of thousands of Russian guards to the occupied territories

The terrorist state of Russia has deployed tens of thousands of Russian Guard officers to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. As of January 2024, Russia has deployed about 35,000 Russian Guards to Ukraine.

It is worth noting that they are armed with armored personnel carriers, tanks, artillery systems, and helicopters. This was reported by the National Resistance Center.

According to the Ukrainian underground, half of the 35,000 Russian guards are regular units, organized into brigades. There are also 5 battalion tactical groups and 44 tactical groups. About 100 more units are formations of riot police and SOBR officers.

The NRC noted that the Russian Guard is the second most important component of the Russian occupation forces after the RF Armed Forces. Members of this formation serve as rear units to suppress civilian resistance. In addition, their responsibilities include conducting filtration activities among the civilian population and identifying members of the underground movement.

It is noteworthy that the Russian Guard uses weapons, including heavy equipment, to suppress civilians who disagree with the Russian occupation. The NRC emphasized that the current Russian occupiers act in the same way as the NKVD did when Soviet troops occupied western Ukraine and the Baltic states after 1945.

The Russian Guard was also used to guard "polling stations" in the temporarily occupied territories during the pseudo-referendum in September 2022 and the pseudo-elections in September 2023.

As a reminder, the war in Ukraine has caused a series of upheavals in the internal security of the terrorist country of Russia. Therefore, Russian security forces decided to strengthen their ranks with former occupants. In particular, the ranks of the Russian Guard have been joined by militants of the Wagner and DPR terrorist organizations.

Earlier it was reported that the occupying Russian "authorities" began to further strengthen mobilization in the occupied territories of Ukraine. Even doctors and teenagers are being forcibly recruited into the ranks of the Russian army.
