Russia launches new attack on Ukraine: explosions heard in Khmelnytsky region
On September 18, the aggressor country Russia launched a massive air attack on Ukraine for the second day in a row, this time using cruise missiles. Before dawn, a series of powerful explosions occurred in the Khmelnytsky region.
This was reported by Suspilne correspondents, who emphasized that after the first loud sounds, there were repeated explosions in the region. The local authorities claimed that air defense systems were operating.
It should be noted that the air alert began to spread from the east to the west of Ukraine at 03:50 on Monday. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a missile threat in the regions - there was a threat of occupants launching cruise missiles from Tu-95MS aircraft.
At about half past six, they warned about the movement of enemy targets in the Khmelnytsky region. Half an hour later, the alarm went off across the country.
Later, the first deputy head of the Khmelnytsky Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Tyurin, confirmed the sounds of explosions in the region and pointed to the work of air defense.
"Air defense is working. More information later. Take care of yourself and your loved ones!" the statement reads.
