On the night of Sunday, May 26, the aggressor country Russia took a group of Tu-95MS and MiG-31K aircraft, which launched cruise and ballistic missiles at Ukraine in the morning, to the sky. Prior to that, the enemy attacked our country with Shahed-type kamikaze drones.

This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They warned about the work of air defense and urged citizens to take shelter.

Thus, at about 23:00 on Saturday, three Tu-95MS strategic bombers took off from the Olenya airfield. After midnight, there were already five planes, and as of 01:15, there were eight.

At 02:30, the Ukrainian Air Force reported the launch of cruise missiles from several TU-95MS aircraft in the Engels area. The first enemy targets entered Ukrainian airspace around 03:30.

The missiles moved in groups of several waves, and air raid alert covered all regions. In some regions, air defense was reported to be working: the defenders were shooting down both drones and cruise missiles.

After 04:00, a MiG-31K, carrier of Kinzhal ballistic missiles, took off in the Russian Federation (from Savasleyka Air Base, Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation). Later, they launched these missiles, which moved from the north through Chernihiv region to Starokostiantyniv and Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, Serhii Borzov, confirmed that a residential building was hit during the enemy attack. Three people were injured and refused hospitalization. All specialized services were working at the site of the attack, and residents were evacuated.

Monitoring channels note that during this combined attack, the aggressor used:

- X-101/555 cruise missiles, launched from at least four Tu-95s from the Saratov region of the Russian Federation;

- Kinzhal (X-47m2) supersonic aeroballistic missiles, launched from MiG-31K;

- Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs.

"The X-101/555 missiles covered the longest distance of ~2070 km before reaching Starokonstiantyniv, Khmelnytsky region. The missile attack lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes. The UAV attack lasted exactly five hours," the statement said.

For reference

Olenya is a Long-Range Aviation airfield (since 2011). Previously, it was the airfield of the Russian Navy. It is located on the Kola Peninsula, 92 kilometers south of Murmansk, near the city of Olenegorsk.

As a reminder, on Saturday evening, May 25, an air raid alert began to spread across Ukraine. The Russian occupiers have once again launched Shahed-type kamikaze drones.

On the night of May 25, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv with four S-300 missiles. One hit was recorded in the industrial zone, and another missile hit the building of a lyceum.

On the morning of May 25, Russians attacked a nearby suburb of Kharkiv with multiple rocket launchers. One person was injured in the attack.
