Russia launched a new massive missile attack on Ukraine: Air Defense worked in Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions

Russia launches massive missile attack on Ukraine

The aggressor country Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine on the night of August 27 using cruise missiles that constantly changed their flight trajectory. An air alert was declared across the country from 03:00 on Sunday, which lasted for more than three hours, explosions were heard in several regions.

At least four regions were notified of Air Defense work, particularly in Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Prykarpattia regions. So far, we are not talking about casualties or damage in the regions due to this terrorist crime of the Russian Federation.

Thus, monitoring channels reported missile launches by the strategic aviation of the occupants from the Caspian region at about 03:04. These were preliminarily X-101/555.

Monitoring channels reported explosions in Cherkasy and Kropyvnytskyi regions at 04.29. The work of the Air Defence was reported in Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Prykarpattia regions.

At the same time, the active work of enemy electronic warfare equipment in different directions was noted, which could provoke reports of false targets. It is noteworthy that Russian missiles constantly changed their direction.

"Such a tour to the south and back to the north is very reminiscent of the exhaustion of Air Defense Forces to further launch Kalibr along this path," the network suggested.

Already around 05:00 it became known that Russian Tu-95ms were leaving the waters of the Caspian Sea. AFU urged citizens not to publish the work of Air Defense. It added that official information about the number and types of downed air targets will be published after the confirmation of data.

Kyiv RMA head Serhiy Popko said that this night all enemy missiles (X-101/555/55 from the Caspian Sea area) moving towards Kyiv were destroyed by Air Defense Forces and other means.

"According to the data as of this minute, there are no casualties and destruction in Kyiv. Take care of yourselves and your relatives, do not neglect the air alert signals and on't forget to thank the soldiers, Defense Forces and aviation. We will win!" he stated.

OC South spokesperson Natalia Humeniuk emphasized:that it is not the first time that the occupiers have used such tactics of launching missiles with a change of trajectory.

"They maneuver a lot to exhaust and reveal our Air Defense system. The tactics are clear. But now we observed a very complex pattern of maneuvers. They were probably looking for options to lay out security routes for future attacks," she explained.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Russia attacked Ukraine with four missiles of different types and kamikaze drones on the night of August 25, trying to hit port infrastructure once again. The defenders of our sky shot down all five enemy targets.
