Russia launched a new drone attack: explosions were heard in Khmelnitsky and Lvov regions, air defense in Kyiv region

The occupying forces of the Russian aggressor country launched Shaked-type kamikaze drones across Ukraine on Saturday night, May 13. Explosions were heard in Kyiv region around 03:30 a.m., and closer to 5 a.m. in Khmelnytskyi and allegedly Lviv region.

The Kyiv regional military administration in Telegram reported the work of air defense. At the same time, authorities in the Khmelnytsky region pointed to the likelihood of an enemy arrival, causing the region to suspend train traffic.

Kyiv region

"Kyiv region! The threat of enemy UAV attacks. Air defense forces are working on targets!" - said in a KOVA message.

Residents of the region were urged to stay in shelters and observe informational silence: do not record and do not put on the net the work of our defenders.

According to the State Emergency Service, in the Kyiv region as a result of the fall(probably shot down) of a drone damaged an apartment building.

Khmelnytschyna

The air alert was first declared in areas from the east to the center, and after the rebound there, it "rolled over" to the western regions.

Immediately afterward, around 04:52, a series of explosions sounded in Khmelnytskyi. According to the Khmelnytskyi LIVE channel, at least four were heard in the city.

"Friends, explosions in the territory of the Khmelnytsky region. Stay in shelters. Do not put up any photos or videos!" - commented on the situation the mayor of the regional center Alexander Simchyshyn.

After 07:00 there was an air alert in the regions, but in Khmelnytskyi the explosions continued.

"Friends, the sounds of explosions can still be heard for some time," Simchyshyn warned.

Ukrzaliznytsia said that the enemy shelling of Khmelnitschina temporarily restricted train traffic in the region, with some of them forced to take a detour route.

The company warned passengers to expect significant delays of at least five flights as of 07:00 Saturday:

- No. 38/36 Uzhgorod, Peremyshl - Odesa;

- #119 Zaporizhzhya - Lviv;

- #139 Kyiv - Kamyanets-Podilskyi;

- No. 85/233 Pokrovsk, Dnepr - Lviv;

- No. 716 Peremyshl - Kyiv.

"More details later, please remain calm, do not post photos/video footage from the scene until they are officially released by the General Staff, and keep an eye out for updates," UZ reminded.

Lviv region

Deputy of the Lviv city council Igor Zinkevich reported a sound similar to an explosion heard in the Lviv region at 04:25. There was no air alert in the region at the time, but it was announced already at 05:06.

"There is information from the military about "Shaheds" in the airspace of Ukraine. Now, let me remind you, air defense is working in the region, as well as aviation is up - so you hear the sounds, everyone is asked to remain calm and stay in shelters! We do not take pictures and do not inform about the work of the military, all information later will provide to the military administration", - said the deputy.

For his part, the head of the Lviv OVA Maxim Kozitsky denied information about explosions in the region.

"At this hour the Lviv region is calm. I ask residents of the region to refrain from spreading false information about explosions. The threat still continues," he wrote after 06:00.

OBOZREVATEL journalists stressed that the work of air defense was heard in the region.

We note that around 01:30 the occupants attacked Nikolaev by drones, explosions in the city. At the sites of the arrivals started a fire, in particular on the first floor of an apartment building and an enterprise.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the Operational Command "South" warned that as of Friday evening, May 12, the aggressor country Russia has withdrawn to the Black Sea two of its missiles. Among them are one ship and one submarine.
