Russia increased the presence of carrier rockets in the Black Sea: trying to keep tension

Gumenyuk spoke about the threat of new missile attacks on Ukraine

The Russian occupation army has increased the presence of missile launchers in the Black Sea and is intensifying the use of reconnaissance drones. Thus, the terrorist state increases the risk of missile attacks against Ukraine because of the G7 summit.

This was said by Natalia Gumenyuk, spokesperson of the United Coordinating Press Center of the Defense Forces in the south of Ukraine, in the broadcast of the "Unified News" telethon. She also said that the invaders were conducting reconnaissance to locate Ukrainian air defense systems and other objects that could become targets of enemy attacks.

"Last night (May 20. - Ed.) the enemy increased the presence of missile carriers in the Black Sea. It became two submarines, two missile carriers - that's 8 Kalibr missiles," Gumenyuk stated.

Thus, the enemy once again tries to build up tension or intensify combat operations at the time of historically important events for the world and Ukraine. It is likely that Russia will use a missile attack as a reaction to the pressure of the world community on the aggressor country.

"We draw everyone's attention - to be very attentive to air-alert signals and keep an eye on enemy aviation activity," the speaker stressed.

According to Gumenyuk, during the night of May 21, enemy drones, both reconnaissance and strike ones, became more active. Thus, during the last 24 hours, five drones were destroyed in the area of responsibility of the southern forces, two of which were reconnaissance drones.

Gumenyuk stressed that the enemy is actively collecting information, a practice that became characteristic of Russian forces after Ukraine announced its readiness for a counterattack.

Earlier it was reported that Russia changed its tactics of missile strikes against Ukraine by using cheap drones. As they say, since the beginning of May, Russia has resumed frequent missile strikes on Ukrainian territory. Their key goal is to deplete the Ukrainian air defense system.

Recall that the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a Russian army forward command post on the territory of Mariupol airport with a Storm Shadow cruise missile. Satellite images showing the aftermath of the "clap" appeared on the network.
