Russia has resorted to tricks with the involvement of DPRK soldiers in the battles in Kursk region: ISW told about the situation. Map
The Russian military command continues to try to conceal the deployment of North Korean forces in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. This is probably due to the mischaracterization of DPRK citizens as members of different ethnic groups.
For example, North Koreans are being passed off as indigenous people of Siberia and the Russian Far East. This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The day before, this information was made public by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Earlier, the Ukrainian military published a number of images and audio intercepts of Russian conversations confirming the participation of North Korean forces in hostilities on the side of the Russian Federation.
The 95th separate airborne assault brigade of the Ukrainian Airborne Forces operating in the Kursk region said that the Russian Armed Forces command was deploying recently recruited "mercenaries" to assault Ukrainian units there.
After the liquidation of these enemy forces, the soldiers of the 95th Regiment found passports with the place of origin of these Russian mercenaries listed as the Republic of Tyva (Russia).
Soldiers of the 6th Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Ranger" published footage showing strikes on Russian and alleged North Korean troops in the Kursk region.
The ISW has so far only suggested that these cases may involve DPRK soldiers in the ranks of Russian assault groups.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, South Korean intelligence estimated that the irrecoverable losses of the DPRK in the Kursk region amount to more than 100 people. About 1000 more North Korean soldiers were wounded in the fighting.
