In the morning of November 21, the aggressor country Russia activated the movement of military aircraft, which usually carries out shelling of Ukraine, and deployed missile carriers into the sea. Subsequently, the enemy launched cruise and ballistic missiles, including an intercontinental missile that struck the Dnipro River.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was notified of the threat of an attack. Accordingly, an air alert was declared in the country.

"A cruise missile from the north through Chernihiv region, heading south. More cruise missiles on the same course. They changed their course in the direction of Kyiv region," the air force said after 06:40.

An hour earlier, the military reported that the enemy could have launched X-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95s in the Engels area.

After 07:15, explosions were heard in the city of Kremenchuk, Poltava region. The enemy struck at Dnipro: according to the JFO, an industrial enterprise was damaged and two fires broke out in the city.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, during the attack between 05:00 and 07:00, Russian troops attacked the city of Dnipro (enterprises and critical infrastructure) with missiles of various types. In particular, an intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, an X-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile was launched from the Tambov region from a MiG-31K fighter jet, and seven X-101 cruise missiles were launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launch area Volgograd region of the Russian Federation). Air Force anti-aircraft missile units destroyed six X-101s, while the remaining enemy missiles did not cause any significant consequences.

As a reminder, as of 05:30, six Russian Tu-95MS planes were recorded taking off from the Engels airfield. They were at the launching borders of Saratov and Volgograd regions of the Russian Federation. Later, the Telegram channel "Mykolaiv Vanek" indicated that four TU-95MS aircraft performed launch maneuvers in two waves.

"If the launches are real, we expect missiles in our airspace closer to 06:40. In total, there are six TU-95MS aircraft in the air, flying towards the Caspian Sea. All the planes took off from Engels," he wrote.

At about 06:30, all six Tu-95MS aircraft landed at Engels airfield in Saratov and Privolzhsky airfield in Astrakhan regions of the Russian Federation. Prior to that, two MiG-31K aircraft landed at the Savasleyka airfield. The preventive threat of cruise and ballistic missile strikes continued in Ukraine.

At the same time, the enemy deployed five Kalibr cruise missile carriers to the Black Sea with a total volley of up to 28 missiles, and another volley of up to 16 missiles was in the Mediterranean. The alert in the regions was canceled after 08:16.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Ukrainians to always pay attention to air alerts, regardless of the time and news, because we have a "crazy neighbor," and because of this, it is simply impossible to predict his actions. This was his reaction to the Russian IPSO about an alleged massive missile attack on November 20, which caused several foreign embassies to suspend their operations in the country.
