"Russia creates such provocations for certain purposes": Air Force commented on the fall of Shahed drone in Romania
The speaker of the Air Force Yuriy Ihnat, recalled the missiles launched by the aggressor country Russia on the territory of Poland and missiles flying over Romania. He noted that such cases are not accidental and that Russia creates such provocations deliberately.
Ihnat said this on the air of the United News TV marathon on September 8. The spokesman noted that the recent downing of Russian kamikaze drones in Romania is just one example of Russia's provocative actions on the borders of NATO member states.
"It is not the first time that the enemy has committed provocative actions on the borders of NATO member states. We remember the Polish story and the flight of cruise missiles through Romania's territory cruise: it was perhaps half a year ago, maybe more," the speaker of the Air Force said.
He also pointed out the intentional targeting of the Russian Federation when Russian drones exploded in Romania during the Odesa attack.
"This time we saw the Shahed drones explode in this territory. This shows once again that Russia creates such provocations with a certain purpose. We've already seen the reaction of the diplomatic corps of Ukraine, the leadership of the state and so on," - said Ignat.
During the massive attack of the Russian Federation on the Odessa region on the night of September 4, part of the drones fell and detonated on the territory of Romania. This was stated by the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine. A drone that fell in Romania attacked the port of Izmail on the Danube River.
Earlier, the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis denied the fall of Russian drones on the territory of his country. He claimed that no drone or any part of any device had reached Romania.
It was only on the third day after the incident that Romania admitted that parts of a Russian drone had fallen on their territory. The country now plans to tighten security measures.
