At dawn on July 23, Russian troops shelled the town of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region with cluster munitions. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out in the town's Palace of Culture, where the humanitarian headquarters was located and medical aid was provided to the townspeople.
The employees of the State Emergency Service tried to put out the fire, but the Russians continued shelling, so the building was completely burned. This was told by the head of the Donetsk regional military-civil administration Pavel Kirilenko.
"The Rashists destroyed the Palace of Culture in Chasovy Yar, which was used as the city's humanitarian headquarters and a place to provide medical assistance. The occupants opened fire on the city at dawn - with cluster munitions. A fire started. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service went to the scene, but had to stop working, as the Rashists did not stop firing," he said.
Kirilenko noted that in the end the building of the Palace of culture burned down.
"A small stock of humanitarian aid (food kits, household chemicals) and medical equipment was destroyed in it. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Rashist troops have once again proved that they disregard the rules of warfare and try to inflict maximum damage primarily on civilians," the head of the Donetsk regional military administration emphasized.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that on the night of July 23, the occupants hit the suburbs of Zaporizhzhya with missiles.
