Russia attacked Ukraine with four ballistic missiles and 57 drones

On August 11, the Air Defense Forces shot down 53 of the 57 Shahed-type kamikaze drones used by the Russian occupiers to attack Ukraine. The enemy also used North Korean ballistic missiles against peaceful cities.

The Kyiv region was hit by the latter, killing two civilians. The details of the attack, which lasted from night to Sunday morning, were described by Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, commander of the Ukrainian Air Force.

It was established that the occupants launched four KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation. And 57 attack UAVs were launched from the Russian cities of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeysk and Kursk. The war criminals also struck Pokrovsk in Donetsk region, probably with artillery.

As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units and electronic warfare systems of the Air Force shot down 53 drones in 11 regions: Mykolaiv, Odesa, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kropyvnytsyi, Kherson, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Rivne and Cherkasy.

"Regarding the Russian strikes with North Korean missiles, I will say the following: ballistic KN-23 missiles, although they rarely reach their desired targets, pose a serious threat to the population. Take care of yourselves and your families," Oleshchuk emphasized and thanked all the defenders of the sky for their professional combat work.

The head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Koval, said that all enemy air targets were shot down in the region and no damage or destruction of infrastructure was recorded.

Vinnytsia RMA noted that air defense forces destroyed seven Russian UAVs overnight. There was no information on casualties, damage or destruction of property. Another six drones were shot down in Cherkasy region without any consequences.

The defenders of the sky destroyed all the drones launched by the occupiers at Kyiv. There were no hits or damage in the capital. The enemy also tried to attack the city with ballistic missiles, but it were the suburbs that took the blow. In particular, in Brovary district of Kyiv region, a father and his four-year-old son were killed in a Russian missile attack last night. The debris of an enemy missile fell on their homes, and they were blocked in the rubble. Three other civilians, including a 13-year-old child, were seriously injured.
