War in Ukraine
Romanenko points out the nuance of the "invasion" of the Russian "Shaheds" in Belarus
During the occupiers' drone attack on the night of July 31, Russian drones once again flew into the territory of Belarus. According to aviation expert Valerii Romanenko, Belarus is unlikely to be able to use this situation as a provocation and accuse Ukraine of the attack, as it is very easy to prove that these are Russian or Iranian-made drones.
Romanenko said this in an exclusive interview with OBOZ.TALK. On the night of July 31, at least five Russian Shaheds entered the airspace of Belarus.
"The more that fly into Belarus, the better it is for us. The less falls on the territory of Ukraine. We should, as they say, encourage such cases. Let Belarus see for itself the reliability and quality of Russian drones. They supported the aggression, they are allies," the aviation expert said.
According to him, it will hardly be possible to use this situation to accuse Ukraine of sending drones to Belarus. After all, there are no similarities between Ukrainian and Russian drones.
"We cannot send drones launched from Russian launchers. That's it. All questions are for Putin and the relevant Chief of the General Staff, who gives the order for the next strike.
More detailed questions at lower levels are for the programmers who entered the flight program for these drones. We have nothing to do with it. And the Belarusian side has never raised any questions to Ukraine," Romanenko said.
"If Russian drones fly into Belarus and hit something there, we will not be responsible. Because any examination at the crash site will easily identify that it is a Russian drone because it has either an Iranian or Chinese engine.
"It's not our problem if the drones flew to Belarus and hit something there. They know that it is very easy to identify it by design, by construction materials, by the engine. There are no similarities between Ukrainian and Russian drones," the expert emphasized.
Earlier it was reported that on the night of July 31, when Russia launched one of the most massive drone attacks on Ukraine this year, a record number of Shaheds entered the airspace of Belarus. One of the drones flew to the town of Stolin in Brest Oblast.
Meanwhile, the Russian Federation boasted of a "high-precision" strike on Ukraine. The propagandists fantasized about a series of strikes on the locations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as the "destruction of neo-Nazis" and "foreign mercenaries."
