"Redis" returned to command "Azov": the main direction of his work became known
After his captivity, stay in Turkey and return to Ukraine, the commander of the Azov National Guard regiment, Denys Prokopenko, call sign Redis, returned to the army. His main task now is to organise the return of Ukrainian soldiers from captivity.
The chief of staff of the Azov special forces brigade, Bogdan "Tavr" Krotevych, said this in an interview on the Razgovor YouTube channel. He also noted that the military were very happy to see Redis back.
The regiment commander's return to the army has greatly strengthened the morale of the soldiers.
"Every soldier is ready to lay down his life for Redis, because he, in turn, is ready to do the same for every Azov soldier," Tavr said.
He also noted that the main focus of Redis' activities is the return of captured soldiers from Russian captivity. In particular, Prokopenko has a certain influence on the exchange of prisoners.
"He has more opportunities to do this - I think so. In fact, you need to understand that some Russian representatives are from the military, they respect him," Krotevych said.
It should be noted that Azov's commanders, including Redis, spent approximately 10 months in Turkey after being captured by Russia. The defenders of Mariupol returned to Ukraine in July 2023.

Earlier it was reported that in early August, Redis personally took part in tactical exercises for the first time since his return from captivity and imprisonment in Turkey. The main purpose of such training is to work out practical issues of planning and organising combat in offence and defence.
