Ukraine receives two NASAMS launchers from Lithuania

Lithuania handed over two launchers for the NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine, as well as equipment for their operation and vehicles for personnel.

This was reported by the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense on Twitter (X). The ministry noted that the launchers are already in place and published the corresponding photo.

"Another delivery from Lithuania has reached Ukrainian soil. NASAMS launchers are now in place," the statement said.

The Ministry of Defense added that the Lithuanian army also provided Ukraine with the equipment necessary for the operation of these launchers.

In addition, the Lithuanians provided off-road vehicles for NASAMS personnel.

The Defense Ministry also noted that some additional equipment for NASAMS was received from Norway.

On Friday, November 10, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anušauskas, who is on a visit to Kyiv.

They discussed further defense cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania. In particular, they talked about the supply of armored medical evacuation vehicles for defenders at the front.

Zelensky thanked Lithuania for its military assistance to Ukraine and significant political support.

"Thank you for the significant support provided to Ukraine. This includes weapons, political support, and absolutely sincere public support in Lithuania for Ukraine, for Ukrainians," the president emphasized.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Lithuania plans to allocate €340 million in aid to Ukraine in 2024. This financial support was included in the country's budget expenditures for 2024.
