"Putin's victory would be a disaster": Poland's new foreign minister calls for US to continue supporting Ukraine
The victory of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in the war in Ukraine would be a disaster not only for our country but also for Western countries. Therefore, Ukrainians should be given the tools necessary to destroy the enemy, which they are doing successfully.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radosław Sikorski made this appeal to the US Congress in an interview with CNN. He emphasized the need to pass legislation as soon as possible to continue financial support for the Ukrainian army.
"The victory of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in the war in Ukraine would be a disaster not only for Kyiv but also for Ukraine's neighbors, Europe and the entire system of the American alliance," Sikorski emphasized.
"Ukrainians need to be given the tools they need to do their job. And they are doing a great job. They have destroyed half of the Russian army for a few percent of the annual US defense budget," the minister reminded.
"The cost of stopping Putin after he conquers Ukraine will be much, much higher than the cost of supporting Ukraine," Sikorski is convinced.
Earlier, Sikorski called for Ukraine to be provided with long-range missiles to destroy sites from which Russia launches missiles and drones, as well as command centers. He also called on the West to strengthen sanctions against Russia and cut off the channels of smuggled components for missile production.
